Conan the Barbarian, the 1982 John Milius sword-and-sorcery fantasy action adventure thriller ("Thief Warrior Gladiator King"; "Written by John Milius and Oliver Stone"; based on the pulp novels by Robert E. Howard) starring Arnold Schwarzenegger (in the title role as Conan), James Earl Jones (as Thulsa Doom). Note that when this movie was in the planning stages in 1980, a special U.S. poster was created, and it had the classic Frank Frazetta art of Conan from his paperback book cover (we don't know if Arnold Schwarzenegger had yet been cast!). When the movie was released in France, they used the Frazetta art (it was not used on any of the regular U.S. posters). | |
